MINDFULNESS PRACTICES GROUP

Mindfulness is the practie of keeping one’s consciousness alive by being non-judgmental, and purposeful in paying attention to your present reality.  Join us to explore the practices of mindfulness meditation and experience how these tools can slowly change your relationship with you thoughts, feelings, and experiences. 

When:  Mondays from 7-8pm.  This 8 week group runs from Monday, September 12 to Monday, November 14, skipping Columbus Day and Halloween.

Leader:  Carlene Charlemagne, BA, MBA, Marriage and Family Therapy intern, is pursuing her teaching certification in Mindfuless Meditation and will share her wealth of knowledge.  See her full bio here!   

Participants:  Anyone 18 or older with a curiosity to explore Mindfuless meditation practices and tools.

Format:  Each week Carlene will speak briefly about a mindfulness tool or practice and the group will have a chance to try things together and share about their expeirences.  

Video Platform:  Google Meet

Cost:  We're in-network with Horizon, BCBS, Anthem, Empire, Aetna, 1199, United, Oxford, Optum, UMR, and Meritain.  We will check your coverage and send a cost estimate for your approval before we confirm your group therapy appointment.  If you are out-of-network or paying privatly, group therapy is $60/session.

NEW & EXPECTANT MOMS SUPPORT GROUP

New Moms all deserve a little extra support as they enter this entirely new phase of their lives.  And ss we emerge from the pandemic, mom are also grappling with rebuilding every routine, social relationship, work schedule, and more.  We could all use a wellness roadmap these days! Join us to meet other moms, share the stressors of new mom life, ask questions, and learn tips to manage perinatal depression and anxiety.  \Led by Paula Bardales, LCSW, a clinician from our Family Wellness Support Team with a certificate in Perinatal Mental Health, this long-running group is now open to expectant moms along with new moms and any mom with kids under age 4. 


When:  Monday's from 8pm-9pm, running openly each week.

Participants:  Expectant Moms and Moms of children under 4 years old are welcome. Babies and pets are welcome to join us any time!

Format:  Each week Paula will help moms discuss pregnancy, parenthood, newborn life, baby development, coparenting, managing anxiety and depression, self-esteem, parenting multiple children, family conflict, identity changes, relationships, mom guilt, and more. Occasional guest speakers join to share information on their specialty, like lactation consultants and pelvic PTs.
