We believe change is possible.  Our Recovery and Family Restoration Center is dedicated to helping clients,  couples, and families work through and heal from the impacts of all types of addiction: from substance use and gambling to sex, porn, or shopping addiction. We are also committed to helping families overcome the unique challenges of co-parenting, trauma, loss, life transitions, and mental health concerns. We are in-network with Aetna, Horizon, BCBS/Anthem/Empire, United Healthcare/Optum/Oxford, Meritain & 1199 SIEU plans.  We offer daytime and evening appointments.  Read on to meet our team and request your first appointment.

Meet Geri Now. Geri Lopez specializes in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and loss. She has a special focus on working with LGBTQIA+ clients, family conflicts, as well as the social, emotional, and academic challenges of childhood. In her work with young children, teens, and parents, Geri draws from her background in Trauma Informed Care, Play Therapy, Child-Parent Relationship Training, and Parent Coaching to support families. With adults, Geri utilizes Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Informed Care therapy to identify strengths and challenges and set goals. Geri received her Master's degree from New Jersey City University, NJ. Geri works Mon-Fri with in-person appointments on Tuesdays and Fridays and has day and evening appointments.

Meet Jeanie Now. Jeanie specializes in premarital counseling, couples work, anxiety, addiction and recovery, and healing from abuse and trauma. She is pursuing her certification in EMDR, an evidence-based trauma treatment. She has special training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Gottman Method couples counseling as well as a certificate in Addiction Studies. Jeanie also provides a safe place for processing spiritual trauma, strict religious upbringings, religious trauma, and family pressures. Jeanie believes in the importance of a strong therapeutic alliance between client and clinician and uses this approach to serve families with concerns they may prefer to address with a clinician who understands their cultural norms. Jeanie earned her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and currently offers telehealth and in-person sessions from Monday to Friday with day and evening openings.

Meet Rosa Now. Rosa earned her masters from Seton Hall University in Marriage and Family Therapy and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with couples, families, individuals, and teens, assisting them on their path to growth, healing, and happiness. In her work with couples, Rosa specializes in the Gottman Method, a research-based approach that offers practical tools to improve communication, engage in healthy conflict, and increase emotional connection. She has extensive experience working with couples struggling to connect, families dealing with the stressors of life transitions, and individuals who want to address anxiety, depression, racial-related trauma, and substance abuse. In her work with individuals, Rosa draws on modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), contextual therapy, and solution-focused therapy. When working with families, Rosa draws on modalities such as structural family therapy (SFT) and emotionally-focused family therapy.  Rosa always tailors her approach to help clients meet their goals as she believes therapy is a collaborative effort. She works Mondays from 10-2, Tuesdays from 10-8, Wednesdays from 10-3/6-8:30, Thursdays from 10-8:30, and Fridays from 10-7. Rosa is offering telehealth sessions and in-person sessions.

Audrey works exclusively with coparenting, couples, and families. She specializes in helping family systems impacted by addiction and/or mental health concerns and utilizes her extensive experience in the substance abuse field to help strengthen and rebuild connections. She is also enthusiastic about assisting couples through infidelity history, intimacy & sex concerns, major life transitions, and frequent miscommunication using the Gottman Method. Audrey believes strongly in blending an empathetic approach with a healthy dose of honest reflection by compassionately challenging her clients to reach their goals. In addition to her therapeutic work, Audrey runs a podcast “Un-Loc’d” where she explores mental health and identity-related topics through the Caribbean lens, a population she is extremely passionate about serving. Audrey earned her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at New Jersey City University, is a Licensed Associate Counselor, a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and is beginning a Sex Counseling Certification. Audrey offers telehealth sessions on Mondays 11:00am – 6:30pm, Tuesdays 10:00am – 4:30pm, Wednesdays 11:00am – 5:30pm, Thursdays 9:00am – 5:00pm, and Sundays 9:00am – 7:00pm.

In her work with couples, Olga draws on the Gottman Method and has experience supporting couples in recovery or with any family history of addiction.  In addition, Olga is able to support clients through this sensitive adjustment period, navigating challenges like trauma, depression, anxiety, and identity formation. She is also a trained hypnotherapist and uses CBT, DBT and REBT in her work.  Olga holds an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montclair State University and a masters in Psychology from her home country and provides services in English or Russian as needed.  She works Sunday 11 am - 7:30 pm, Monday 10 am - 6:30 pm., Tuesday 9 am - 5:30, Wednesday 2 pm - 8 pm, Thursday 8 am - 4:30 pm.  Olga is offering telehealth and in-person sessions.

Meet Linda Now. Linda specializes in substance use disorders, survivors of childhood and adult trauma, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. She has had the privilege of working with combat veterans which has developed in her a passion for helping the veteran community and first responders. She is inspired by the lives of so many who have overcome mental, emotional, and relational difficulties to live full and meaningful lives. Her desire is to create a safe and comfortable environment for clients to explore the issues in their lives that have brought them to therapy. She believes in the transformative power of insight, compassion, mindfulness, and acceptance that creates positive and meaningful change. Linda is trained in EMDR, Prolonged Exposure, CPT, Mindfulness, CBT, and Psychodynamic processing. Using these methods, and listening to the needs of the client, she tailors each session to meet the client where they are. Linda works Monday - Friday and offers in-person sessions on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays at our Millburn location.

Meet Kamesha Now. Kamesha specializes in providing affirming and restorative therapy to LGBTQ+ youth and adults.  In her work with couples, Kamesha draws on the Gottman Method, an evidenced-based therapeutic approach that increases effective communication and emotional connection. She also has experience supporting individuals and families in overcoming substance abuse and healing from trauma or family violence.  Kamesha employs a trauma-informed lens and utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Skill Building, and Solution-Focused techniques to assist clients in identifying and working toward their goals. In her work with kids and teens, Kamesha uses Hip Hop, Spoken Word, and other creative arts and pop culture activities to promote engagement.  She received her masters from Florida Atlantic University and is a Licensed Social Worker.  Kamesha works with clients Monday-Wednesday from 10am-8pm and Thursday-Friday from 9am to 2pm.  She is offering telehealth sessions and in-person appointments at our Jersey City office.

Meet Mariah Now. Using her background in education, Mariah specializes in collaborating with children/adolescents and their families to navigate personal or academic concerns, behavioral challenges, bereavement, identity formation or adjustment through life transitions such as addiction, co-occuring disorders, physical/sexual abuse, racial trauma, and other cultural issues. With emerging adults, Mariah operates with the understanding that people have many skills, values, and competencies and she utilizes Narrative Therapy, CBT, and DBT to assist them in changing their relationship with the problems influencing their lives. She uses the Gottman Method to assist couples in conflict over the unique struggles of parenting children/adolescents in the legal system and conduct related concerns. Mariah is one of our counseling interns and is currently pursuing an M.A./Ed.S. in Professional Counseling at Seton Hall University.

Meet Andrew Now.  Andrew focuses on life transitions and challenges, stress and anxiety, identity, men’s issues, and relationship issues. He aims to foster a climate of support and growth by utilizing Narrative Therapy, Feminist Theory, and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy(REBT). With couples, Andrew accesses the Gottman Method with elements of Emotionally-Focused Therapy(EFT) to foster greater communication and connection. Andrew is one of our counseling interns and is pursuing a dual Master’s in Professional and School Counseling at Seton Hall University. He works in the Jersey City Office and will offer telehealth on Tuesdays 2:00pm to 3:00pm, Wednesdays 9:00am to 1:00pm, Fridays from 11:00am to 7:30pm, and Saturdays from 9:00am to 5:30pm. He is offering in-person appointments and telehealth appointments.
