Meet Cecil Now. Cecil helps clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, and LGBTQIA+ identity and experiences. Cecil looks at therapy as a collaborative process and uses strength-based, person-centered, and solution-focused therapy in his work while drawing on his experiences as a bisexual transgender man. With couples, Cecil uses the Gottman Method to support traditional relationships, non-monogamy, and kink orientations. He conducts his work with a focus on social justice, making sure to examine not only clients’ experiences but also their societal contexts. Cecil received his MSW from Rutgers University with a certificate in Violence Against Women and Children and is a Licensed Social Worker in NJ.  He works Tuesday to Saturday.

Linda has particular expertise in trauma work, drawing on modalities like EMDR, Prolonged Exposure therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy to reduce traumatic memories in veterans, first responders, and survivors of childhood and adult abuse and trauma. Linda is also a specialist in addiction and recovery and supports clients navigating the impacts of addiction in themselves or loved ones. In her career thus far, Linda has had the privilege of working with combat veterans and first responders. She is inspired by the lives of so many who have overcome mental, emotional, and relational difficulties to live full and meaningful lives. Linda’s goal for therapy is to create a safe and comfortable environment to explore challenges and lean on compassion, mindfulness, and acceptance to create positive and meaningful change. Linda works Mon-Fri in our Millburn office and offers telehealth across NJ.

Tova specializes in work with new moms and women who are pregnant or post-conception, supporting them in the challenges that can arise in these stages of life.  She earned her masters from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, has experience in school counseling, and is licensed Social Worker and is certified in Perinatal Mental Health counseling.  In her work with couples, Tova uses the Gottman Method, an evidenced-based therapeutic approach that increases effective communication and emotional connection. With children and teens and their families, Tova uses play therapy and narrative therapy methods within a family systems lens. With clients struggling with PTSD, Tova uses Prolonged Exposure therapy, an evidence-based short-term model focusing on improving the lives of trauma victims. Tova values a holistic perspective in therapy, using the approach that will help each client most effectively, from CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) techniques to trauma repair to practical supports like goal-setting and self-care ideas.  Tova works Monday to Friday with in-office days on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Melissa is our practice owner as well as staff therapist and a seasoned speaker and trainer.  After getting her masters in Clinical Social Work at Columbia University, she worked as a Wall St. wellness counselor and consultant for many years.  Melissa is trained in the Gottman Method, a research-based approach to strengthening relationships.  Some very smart people have spent decades studying what factors matter most in happy relationships and Melissa specializes in teaching the tools, strategies, and mindsets people can use to heal, gain clarity, make decisions, and grow a great relationship.  She launched Resolution Counseling Center in 2019 to create a user-friendly place for local couples, individuals, and teens to get excellent care from a hand-picked staff of caring professionals.  She is not taking on new clients in 2020 to focus on growing the business, but she is available to speak at conferences, workshops, retreats, or community events.
